In My Mailbox (51-58): Catch up time!!

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren, and inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie! Participants are required to tell all about what they've received in the mail--anything bookish!

~~~~~
In case you missed it, I had another IMM, for the review copies I'd received lately. [click here] The sequels just keep on pouring in! Now that I've finished university for the year, I can hopefully have a 3 day (at least) book turnover! Hope the holidays serve you well as well. ;)
Ahem.
Continue! :D
I'm kind of sorry for the cruddy photo.
* All release dates go in the format (dd/mm/yy)
* Any books I have already read will have a sort of mini-review and the rating I have given it up now until written.
* = Up for swap
For Review:
Thanks to everyone for the review copies!
Going Underground by Susan Vaught
(01/12/11, 325 pp., RRP $24.99 - requested)
Male perspective YA is pretty tops, if I do say so myself. I'm really intrigued with this teenage boy whose history is so bent up that the only job he can score is one where he's digging graves. Dead zones.
Tiger's Voyage (Tiger, #3) by Colleen Houck
(08/11/11, 542 pp., RRP $16.99 - unsolicited)
So. This is the third book in the series, and I have been sent each previous volume in the series. Still haven't read even the first book, though I've wanted to since I first got it. It looks good; I think the main reason I've been holding back is the constant comparisons with Twilight. No, no. I'll start this series soon! Thanks for sending me the next book, Hachette-Hodder!
Froi of the Exiles (Lumatere Chronicles, #2) by Melina Marchetta
(03/10/11, 590 pp., RRP $24.95 - unsolicited)
I have not read Finnikin of the Rock just yet. I really want to, though I don't see me grabbing a copy of it anytime soon (since it's pretty expensive). I'd give it away, but it's too heavy for me to send out considering the lack of income I am receiving. Thanks for sending this along, Penguin, though I can't do much with it at the moment...
If someone in SYDNEY wants to borrow this, maybe we can work out a meet-up?
Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie
(31/10/11, 370 pp., RRP $19.95 - unsolicited)
I read Matched last year and though I wasn't completely blown away, I really do want to know what happens next. Thanks for sending this along, lovely people at Penguin! :D And I have to say I love the colour combination of this book!
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
(03/01/12, 370 pp., RRP $16.95 - unsolicited)
I cannot wait to read this! How beautiful is the cover? That, and the premise just sounds completely original despite the fact that it is a spin-off/retelling of the classic Cinderella tale. Set in the far future. And Cinderella is a cyborg and a gifted mechanic. I've heard nothing but praise, to top it all off! Thanks for the proof copy!!
Vampire Academy: The Ultimate Guide by Michelle Rowen with Richelle Mead
(28/11/11, 310 pp., RRP $12.95 - unsolicited)
I really wish that I didn't get so many unsolicited review copies, since many of them I just can't read. I'll be giving this away, in a set (does 'with Bloodlines' sound good to anyone?), in the near future.
 Inheritance (Eragon #4) by Christopher Paolini
(09/11/11, 860 pp., RRP $29.95 - unsolicited)
I've never been interested in this series, to be honest. Much of that disinterent is quite possibly due to the ridiculous length of each instalment to the series! This book alone is 800+ pages! This book is too heavy for me to ship it (giveaway) so I'll be giving this particular copy to my brother. But I'll be having an Eragon-something giveaway in the future! I don't know...should I feel guilty about an unsolicited review copy? :S Thanks to Random House anyway.
Bought:
Amplified
by Tara Kelly
Looooooved it! It was such a quick read, and I say if you're a music fan, GO FOR IT. (review to come late-November)
Tomorrow, When the War Began (#1) by John Marsden {Review}
This book and its film adaptation really go well together. I thoroughly enjoyed both of them, and in fact I just ordered the second book (The Dead of Night) so it's on its way! ;)
The Poison Diaries: Nightshade (#2) by Maryrose Wood
The Poison Diaries was a 2010 read that surprised me...because the book founds its way to my home TWICE! The duplicate copy is still up for swap, and I'd definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a fantasy book that is unlike anything else they've ever read. I can't wait to get into this book and continue Jessamine's story with Weed and her father, and of course the garden.
Virtuosity by Jessica Martinez
I have yet to read anything negative about this book. I can already tell you I'm going to love this book. And the cover is simply gorgeous, and really matches the tone that Martinez starts the book off with in the prologue (if you've read it you know what I mean).
Betrayals (#2) by Lili St. Crow
If any of you actually check my 'currently reading' section on the sidebar...I'm currently FINALLY reading the Strange Angels series! And it's all because I've finally got all 5 books. Thanks to those who graciously traded with me, or even sent me a copy for free [Braiden]!
Frost (#2) by Wendy Delsol
Stork, the first book, was such an atmospheric and original book that I can't wait to delve into the pages of its sequel.
Won:
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
This was #1 on my wishlist, and it was just the best timing because I won a Book Depository choose your own book giveaway (Thanks Cari!). I know I need to time my reading of this book just right. Because if I read it too late I might not be able to get to sleep. Or so I hear from fellow readers. At this point in time, though, I can say, "What a prologue!"
Withering Tights by Louise Rennison
Looks like fun! I love retellings, and this book will be one of the most fun kind. Thanks Arielle!
