In My Mailbox (27): Awesome Sauce

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren, and inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie! Participants are required to tell all about what they've received in the mail--anything bookish!

~~~~~
I'm really excited about the books I received this week. Let's get started! :D
PS. I'm a bit worried because I just bought 5 more books online today (I planned on only 2 books a month). They're all paperback, but still . . . I need a book buying ban. But, books! :'(
* All release dates go in the format (dd/mm/yy)
* Any books I have already read will have a sort of mini-review and the rating I have given it up until now written.
For Review:
Falling Under (#1) by Gwen Hayes
(28/03/11, Penguin Australia)
Debut YA '11Paranormal YA
I remember being really excited about this release, and to finally have it? Wow. I'll be reading this soon. ;)
David by Mary Hoffman
(01/09/11, Bloomsbury Australia)
Historical YA
I love historical YA -- how could I resist? This is about a young man who winds up in Florence and happens upon Michaelangelo, looking for work. Guess why this book is called David. ;)
Defiance by Lili St. Crow
(28/03/11, Penguin Australia)
Paranormal YA
This series was never on my radar, but now? I'm so interested in this series. If you have the first three books (Aussies!), please contact me, we can work out a trade.
Bought:
Hate List by Jennifer Brown
(05/010/10, Little Brown)
Contemp YA
Squee!! I plan on buying the hardcover in the future, but until then I can't wait to finally read this book! It's reminiscent of all the stuff I can't resist.
Like Mandarin by Kirsten Hubbard
(08/03/11, Delacorte House)
Debut YA '11  |  Contemp YA
I was getting worried that this would never arrive. I PRE-ORDERED THIS! And it arrives a month after the release date. The first time I've ever had a delay from The Book Depository. And the book jacket is crooked. (you can see in the overall photo-more obvious when vertical) Oh well. I'm so excited to read this!!
Swapped:
Zombies vs. Unicorns edited by Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
My Name is Memory by Anna Brashares
The Luxe (#1) by Anna Godbersen
Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
Swag:
I got a bookmark from The Book Depository. :| The one on the far right.
Netgalley:
The Near Witch by Victoria Schwabb (02/08/11, Disney-Hyperion)
Sharks & Boys by Kristen Tracy (28/06/11, Disney-Hyperion)
Cat Versus Human by Yasmine Surovec (04/10/11, Andrews McMeel Publishing) - btw, I'm a dog person, but there are never any dog comics, now are there?
The Girl Who Disappeared Twice by Kady Cross (31/05/11, Harlequin)
A lot of great books available at the moment. I hope I get to read at least one of them! :P
Happy Reading!
My Name Is Memory is really good. The only other one of these I've read is The Forest of Hands and Teeth, which I wasn't crazy about (but I don't think I'm much of a zombie fan; if you like zombies, you'll probably like the book).
Enjoy all your reads!
I want to read The Forst of Hands & Teeth by Carrie Ryan and The Luxe series.
AMAZING Books. Happy Reading.
Anna Godbersen is amazing. I loved Bright Young Things, and I'm disappointed that I'm only just trying out The Luxe now.
Excellent books this week. I love that cover of The Forest of Hands and Teeth. David sounds wicked awesome. Hope you love them all. Happy Reading!
I'm counting on David to be full of awesome. Also ARCs are scarce around here, so I get all excited whenever I receive one.
I know exactly what you mean. I have way too many books that keep getting pushed back on my TBR. (eg. hmm...I got HOLD STILL by Nina Lacour September '10 and still haven't read it even though I was at "OMGICAN'TBELIEVEIHAVEITNOW!" status upon receiving it.
Yeah, TBD bookmarks don't come around as often as they used to which is a shame. I only have 5 (I think I lost one haha), I'm sure you have a dozen more.
But yeah, when you do finish your ARC for Steel Corset, I'll be waiting. :P
Uhmm you have some great reading ahead because Hate List, LIke Mandarin, and REvolution are all amaaaaaaazing!! great loot this week :) enjoy!!
hey cass. i don't have doubles of the first two, but i have a spare of 'jealousy' which is number 3. and totally no swap necessary, because i have WAY too many books already, so you'll actually be helping me out by off loading one. just hit me an email.
also: revolution by jennifer donnelly? yeah, AWESOME SAUCE. seriously. that book is so fantastic.
That's great Nicole! I'll email you. That's very generous of you. The covers look amazing don't they? I've received so many great books that I don't know where to start. I've been dying to read REVOLUTION for ages though.
You have some really good looking books. :) I read hate list about a month ago. I loved it.
What a great IMM! Revolution has to be one of my favorite books and I hope you'll enjoy it too! I'm also looking forward to your thoughts on Falling Under. Have fun reading :D
I agree with your blog title! this is awesome. Like mandarin looks amazing! Once The Book Depository took SEVEN weeks to get to me. I was dying a little bit inside each day it didn;t arrive. I normally always wait at least 3 weeks...
xx Nomes
another fantastic IMM!. I hear you on the compulsions to buy buy buy buy books... I have the same terrible affliction but hey... what can you do :)
Woo hoo for getting Like Mandarin!!!! I can't wait to hear your thoughts. I heard mostly great things about it. Happy reading :)
You really do have a lot of great books! I can' t wait to read Falling Under. I hope it's awesome!
Great blog- I'm a new follower!
Great books this week!
I've been interested in starting Luxe but have held back. I wonder what you will think of it! I also requested The Near Witch from NetGalley, so hopefully will get approved as well!
