Weekend Question (3): Where do you read your books?

Weekend Question is hosted at Liz at Cleverly Inked. Every weekend, a blogging/bookish question will be asked, to be answered.

This week, Liz is experiencing familial problems, so I made my own question to answer. :)

Weekend Question:

Where do you read your books?
In bed: before sleep, in the mornings after sleep (if I've not slept in!), in the middle of the day . . . Also, I read books while sitting on my desk in front of my computer, between blogging-related businesses, and Youtube sessions, etc. In Australia, the sun is finally starting to show promise as Spring has finally sprung into action. It's quite nice outside, despite the fat flies and tiny mosquitoes; we have a nice little "backyard" where all my family's puppy's toys somehow magically get transported to. There are three chairs and a rocking bench thingy, and so I may sit out there and just read under the sun. :)

99th Post -- Book covers & Book Memes!!

So, this is my 99th blog post, so I thought I'd do something a little different. Hope you enjoy!

 BOOK COVERS
Some readers would not be aware of this, but Australians occasionally get different covers than the US. In some even rarer cases, these covers differ from the UK covers.

Penguin Australia does this from time to time.
Oh, that crazy little penguin. Don't know what he'll do next!!

Here are just a few upcoming titles that have new covers.
Comment below with your thoughts!

Yes, the cover for Matched is the UK cover, but how could I not add it?
(left to right)
Matched - Ally Condie / Anna and the French Kiss - Stephanie Perkins
The Unidentified by Rae Mariz / Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld

Also, I'd love to discover some YA fiction from Aussie authors, because truthfully, much to my embarrassment, I don't know of all that many. So give me suggestions!!

(I've already got Cath Crowley and Marina Marchetta on my checklist.)

MY LIFE IN BOOKS MEME

I've seen this one done at Squeaky Books and Holes in My Brain, and it seems like a lot of fun!

Basically, just answer the phrase with a book title you have read this year! Some of my answers aren't serious...

In high school I was: A Blue So Dark (Holly Schindler)
People might be surprised I'm: Wicked (#5, Pretty Little Liars, Sara Shepard)
I will never be: Perfect (#3, Pretty Little Liars, Sara Shepard)
My fantasy job is: Stork (Wendy Delsol)
At the end of a long day I need: Shug(ah) (Jenny Han)
I hate it when: The Sky is Everywhere (Jandy Nelson)
Wish I had: Thirteen Reasons Why (Jay Asher)
My family reunions are: The Dead (David Gatward) That's all I had!
At a party you'd find me: If I Stay (Gayle Forman)
I've never been to: The Light of Asteria (Elizabeth Isaacs)
A happy day includes: Bright Young Things (Anna Godbersen)
Motto I live by: Bad Girls Don't Die (Katie Alender)
On my bucket list: One Night That Changes Everything (Lauren Barnholdt)
In my next life I want to be: The Great Gatsby (F. Scott Fitzgerald)

Feel free to snag this meme!
Have fun and leave a comment, I'd love to link/read it! :D

Please don't unfollow me just yet! I have cool stuff planned for November and December. :)

Weekend Question (1): What got you into blogging?

Weekend Question is hosted at Liz at Cleverly Inked. Every weekend, a blogging/bookish question will be asked, to be answered.

Weekend Question:

What got you into blogging?

Well, I don't know how far back you want me to stem from, but I have been fascinated and entangled with websites and the like since I was 11/12 years of age. I loved having a space all my own, to create, to change. So there's that side to the story. However, I guess what got me into blogging-and more specifically, book blogging-is the newfound love for reading that I experienced earlier this year. It was like an epiphany, and now, 5 months later, it feels like I've been reading books my entire life.

So anyway, when I become obsessed with something, I turn toward the internet. I was searching up my favourite books, and then I discovered BOOK BLOGS. It wasn't until I saw The Story Siren, plus a few more blogs, that I became interested in making a book blog. I'm amazed that I've been blogging for 3 and a half months already!

I'm SO glad that I began blogging, though. It's introduced me to so many new, great books; as well as allowed me to meet so many wonderful people out there, from all over the world.
I hope you all know how much I love your comments. :)

Blog Hop & Teaser Tuesday

I'm blog hopping for the very first time.
Basically, this is a blog meme among other popular memes: "In My Mailbox" (the Story Siren), this one, "Teaser Tuesday" (Should Be Reading), and more. The idea is to, well, blog hop. Find new book blogs, add your site to the list. It's a weekly thing, so there are boundless amounts of blogs to be visited. Not enough time in the world. Here are some nice sites that I have stumbled upon.

http://www.maybe-tomorrow.net/
http://yafiction-heavenhellandpurgatory.blogspot.com/

Now, I am in no way a crazy-obsessed book reader. Actually, let me re-phrase that. I'm not one to buy books like wildfire and complete books in 2 hours. Granted, I have read about 12 books in a month, which is an astonishing effort on my part. :) Most of them were ebooks and from library-- only one of them of which I bought. Speaking of which, I think I shall have an IMM, although I won't be able to participate each week, considering I'm a pretty poor person.

Check at "Should Be Reading" for more details

This one is fairly simple: read a passage/few sentences from a book you are currently reading. Here's a passage from "Killer" by Sara Shepard. I don't think it's spoiler-y, so it's all good.

"Aria smacked her hand to her forehead. "Emily, you have Ali on such a pedestal. She was a lying, conniving, manipulative bitch- to me, to Jason, and to you too. Deal with it." Then Aria hit end, dropped her phone into her bag, and walked back inside for the keys to the Subaru."
Check in for next weeks "Teaser Tuesday" segment! If I perceive correctly, it will probably be for "Split by a Kiss", or perhaps even "Glimmerglass". How fast can I read during a packed week of school and important exams?
