99th Post -- Book covers & Book Memes!!

So, this is my 99th blog post, so I thought I'd do something a little different. Hope you enjoy!

BOOK COVERS
Some readers would not be aware of this, but Australians occasionally get different covers than the US. In some even rarer cases, these covers differ from the UK covers.

Penguin Australia does this from time to time.
Oh, that crazy little penguin. Don't know what he'll do next!!

Here are just a few upcoming titles that have new covers.

Yes, the cover for Matched is the UK cover, but how could I not add it?

Also, I'd love to discover some YA fiction from Aussie authors, because truthfully, much to my embarrassment, I don't know of all that many. So give me suggestions!!

MY LIFE IN BOOKS MEME

I've seen this one done at Squeaky Books and Holes in My Brain, and it seems like a lot of fun!

I will at least host one international contest. I can assure Aussies that most of the contests will be nation-wide. Maybe out to Zone B people, too. I'm still only a student, and a job-less one at that. So I can't afford too many international contests. However I do link to many international contests and the amount of intl's are actually increasing quite encouragingly.

i love your use of The bright Young Thing and thirteen Reasons why in the meme! That is so cool!

and as for Aussie YA? i have a page on my blog listing all my personal faves (although theres more I havent yet put on there). You absolutely MUST read Jaclyn Moriarty!!! I think I am going to do a top ten post for my fave Aussie titles soon... (I just have to try and cut it down to ten.

I think you would love Guitar Highway Rose by Brigid Lowry and Raincheck on Timbuktu by Kirsten Murphy - both all time faves of mine.

NO WAY!!! Scott Westerfeld is Aussie? I never knew... Thanks for the amazing list! I'm so grateful that you have up a whole list. I've heard of Moriarty. I'll have to go check out one of her books sometime in the holidays. :)

The meme mostly involves just the book title, not the actual content within the novel. So it's just like you'll find me at the party if I don't leave beforehand.

The Anna cover isn't the same. You can compare the two if you'd like. The font is totally different! Hahahaha. US people would instantly be able to tell the difference.

Wow, that's pretty interesting.
I'm terrible at my geography, so... Is India close to the UK? Hmm...I guess it is, at least compared to US. The cover for Matched is the same, since PengAus is getting copies of them from the UK. However, for the other three it'll probably be different. I just think covers are interesting to look at and discuss.

Hope more people do the meme. :)

Ooh, I absolutely love that meme. I really should try and get around to doing that one. I really also need to start making more time to be able to do them instead of just saying I am, and then not ending up doing them at all :( . Love those covers by the way. Man, I can't wait for Matched.
