Q: Do you ♥ NetGalley? How about free stuff?

A: There is only ONE answer to both of those questions.

Live to read, Read on to win

First off, I want to mention this super contest going on at Ashley's Bookshelf. She needs a button to use for her birthday contests. Seems there may be over $200 in prizes planned (including a brand new copy of Firelight by Sophie Jordan!), so you'd better check it out!
The winning button gets 20 extra entries, and anyone who enters receives a swag pack and 10 extra entries.

Also, no one has entered yet. ;)
(I'm not entering, due to time constraints.)

So, I recently scoured Net Galley a second time, and another 2011 YA is up for review!
Everyone has already received their copies of HarperTeen titles, I'm sure.
If not, there's Delirium, The Lying Game, Angelfire, Unearthly and a few more highly anticipated titles.
Net Galley doesn't stop at that though! Check around the "teen" section and you'll see a whole collection of great titles, yours for the taking!

Name: The Verspertine
Author: Saundra Mitchell (debut novel: Shadowed Summer)
Release Date: 7th March 2011
Genres: YA, Paranormal, Historical, Fantasy

The summer of 1889 is the one between childhood and womanhood for Amelia van den Broek—and thankfully, she’s not spending it at home in rural Maine. She’s been sent to Baltimore to stay with her stylish cousin, Zora, who will show her all the pleasures of city life and help her find a suitable man to marry.

With diversions ranging from archery in the park to dazzling balls and hints of forbidden romance, Victorian Baltimore is more exciting than Amelia imagined. But her gaiety is interrupted by disturbing, dreamlike visions she has only at sunset—visions that offer glimpses of the future. Soon, friends and strangers alike call on Amelia to hear her prophecies. Newly dubbed "Maine’s Own Mystic", Amelia is suddenly quite in demand.

However, her attraction to Nathaniel, an artist who is decidedly outside of Zora's circle, threatens the new life Amelia is building in Baltimore. This enigmatic young man is keeping secrets of his own—still, Amelia finds herself irrepressibly drawn to him. And while she has no trouble seeing the futures of others, she cannot predict whether Nathaniel will remain in hers.

When one of her darkest visions comes to pass, Amelia's world is thrown into chaos. And those around her begin to wonder if she’s not the seer of dark portents, but the cause.

Love books? Love blogger memes?

Also, I participated in another guest post meme thingy. This week, you can check out what books I absolutely love, as well as books I've been introduced to through blogging. You can also check out what some fellow bloggers, Joli @ Actin' Up with Books and Kaila @ Reading the Best of the Best have said.

You can also join in the fun! Just comment expressing your interest. ;)

Running out of ink

Last bit of news for this post (sorry this isn't a content post...): I'm reading my 41st book for this year! It's amazing, considering I started reading in May. In my previous years of living, I've never even hit 10 books, I'm sure.

I'm so pleased about what blogging, what Goodreads, what YOU bloggers and readers out there has done to me. And thanks to all the authors, because without you, no one would have anything to read. Also, a super big thanks to Sara Shepard, for without her Pretty Little Liars series, I would never have started reading to such an extent!

I've been picking up in posting, and have so many good things in store for the end of this month. Already have an international giveaway and an Aussie-only giveaway scheduled. ;)
Check back regularly. I'm also updating my giveaways sidebar & page more often.

Net Galley is awesome - such fantastic books! - but I don't have an e-reader and reading off my iTouch can be so annoying since it's small. Sigh, I guess this means I might need to cave and get an e-reader, huh?

That's great that you've gotten into reading so quickly! Congratulations, and here's to many many more books on your bookshelf! :)
I actually just finished reading The Lying Game from netgalley on Saturday. I haven't read Shepard's Pretty Little Liar series, but now I really want to. Lying Game was such a good book! And 41 books since May? Super cool. Is that something to say congratulations for? Not sure, but congrats anyway!
I just requested 'The Verspertine' - thanks for the heads-up!
Ooh, I definitely want to get The Vespertine. That one sounds super fabulous, doesn't it? heading on over to go and request. .. Thanks for the heads-up
Oh, I have to check out NetGalley and how they work - I live in India though, so that might be an issue.

NetGalley is ONLINE, like with e-books and the like. Therefore, it is internationally available. Just sign up, edit your profile, request the titles you want, and the publishers will either accept or decline. It's really easy, and you get a lot of cool upcoming titles (elevensies are starting to pop up!) for free. ;) If you have an e-reader, I think they cater to that, as well. Not sure.
