In My Mailbox (17)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren, and inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie!

THE VLOG
No vlog for this week.

I know the photo goes into the sidebar, but it looks blocky if smaller. :P

For Review:
{gr}
- Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, for release in Australia on the 4th of January 2011. Thanks to Penguin Australia for sending it for review!
I suck. I've thrown this at the top of my to-read pile.This one is the AUSTRALIAN edition, which explains the different cover.

Bought:

Nothing

Gifted:

{gr}
- Rival bookmarks x 10, all signed by Sara Bennett Wealer herself.
She's awesome. I can't wait to read her debut novel in February! And yes, I do hope to be an unofficial part of her blog tour and giveaway some stuff, such as these bookmarks. ;)

BookMooch:

{gr}
- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Can you believe I have not read this yet?

{gr}
- Crave by Laura Burns / Melinda Metz
This is the best condition a Bookmooch book has come in, for me. I'm not a big fan of the paranormal, but this looks good.

Won:

Awesome mailbox, Cass! I'm so jealous of those signed HP pics haha I'm a Harry Potter nut :)

Enjoy all your new reads!
Awesome stuff. I kinda make an outline of what was going on in the book and the characters and all that. :)
signed HP photos! Jealous! Also nice IMM this week.

Usually to prepare for reviews I take notes when I read on the characters and scenes. I also jot down some of my favorite quotes. It's just the small comments and opinions I have that I write down and then put it all together when its time for the review.
You should frame those HP photos. They're awesome.
I'm not sure I like the slight differences of the ANNA cover, will have to take a closer look. Anyhow it's still majorly high on my wish list.

I've recently found that writing my reviews while I'm half way through the book actually helps me a lot then I can come back with a totally different mindset once I've read the very last page and be psyched to complete it. I usually just prepare myself by playing music in the background while I write.
What an awesome week. I'm so excited for Anna and the French Kiss to come out! I really want to read it. And those HP pics are so cool!

The way I write reviews has evolved over the past few months. At the moment, I try to write little notes while I'm reading the book so that at the end I can remember all the thoughts I had while actually reading. It helps a lot! And the sooner I write the review after finishing the book, the easier it is.

Have a great week!
You got some awesome stuff this week! I'm a new follower, maybe you could follow back? Have a great week and happy reading!
You got the pictures! Thank god! I was getting worried.
I will be looking forward to your review of Anna and the French Kiss.
How do I write my reviews? I usually keep little notes while I am reading the book. In the end I combine those notes along with my final thoughts.I try to write the reviews immediately after I am done with the book. But if a book affected me a lot, it takes some time for me to gather my thoughts.
You got some great things this week! I'm getting a copy of Lost Voices in the mail which I am also super excited about. The signed HP photos are pretty awesome. I got a signed HP photo once for my friend which she loved. Thanks for sharing!

I prepare for my reviews by mentally mapping out what I'm going to say and then diving in. Not too much really as I'm already noting things as I read.

Ooh, I wish I could have the experience of reading Pride & Prejudice for the first time again. Mr. Darcy is my hero :)
Holy cow what a haul! I'm jealous! drop by to see my smaller pile!
I used to take notes and place stickies as I read, because of that I really like reading ebooks and all my notes are electronic rather than on paper that can be lost!
Yeay! I love IMM. My to-reads list is growing by leaps and bounds today!!! Hope you will stop by mine!

Sincerely,
