Every word will leave you breathless . . .

I am, of course, talking about the Penguin Five (Breathless Books)! In case you've been living under a rock for like, ever, here are the five books that promise to take your breath away. The woman in voiceover said so! There is:

- Romance: The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller
- Horror: The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff
- Paranormal: Nightshade by Andrea Cremer
- Dystopia: Matched by Ally Condie
- Fantasy: Sapphique (Incarceron, #2) by Catherine Fisher

The highly awaited trailer is out!

INJANE Chapter One

Blurb (from Goodreads):
Most people think I'm crazy because I see things they cannot. But if they saw the blood and the torture, or felt an ounce of the pain I feel, they would know I'm not insane. No one believes me and that makes me more alone than I feel. To those who meet me for the first time, I'm Jane; once they hear my one-sided conversations and terrified screams, they refer to me as Injane.
My thoughts:

So I was emailed a few days ago by the publisher, Pot-Boilers Publishing, to post about Injane. They even sent along the first chapter! The first sentence is "I kill trees." Now, if that doesn't give some indication as to what kind of main character/narrator we have here, I don't know what will. The narrator is sarcastic, narcissistic, depressed, pessimistic. She sees things that others don't.

We have Jane, the main character, and she is taken in as a foster child by the Winkerbean family. She is brought to the church and introduced to the people: those who follow religion and are "good people". Jane sees lighters and darkers, those who "inhabit the church". To my understanding, these are creatures she can see, that others cannot.

I'm thinking this book has a sort of Wintergirls x A Love Story Starring My Dead Best Friend vibe to it. Seems pretty interesting so far. I'd love to read more of it!
Hope you check it out. :) Especially if you enjoy (well, not enjoy, but prefer to...?) reading teen issue kinds of fictional books and the like.

I'm so looking forward to the Replacement! Matched was pretty good though! I really want to read the Incerceron series, but I just haven't had the chance to get a copy!

That trailer is fantastic! I love it. The only one of those titles I've read so far is Matched, which I really liked, but they all look good to me.
