Top 10 Tuesday (1) & Where She Went Cover Reveal!!

This is the first time I'm doing this, but since the topic this week is interesting, I'll take a crack at it. :) There may be some *gasping* on your part as I uncover the BIG titles that I haven't even taken a peek at. So anyway this meme for this week is Books I Can't Believe I've Never Read! Let's begin, shall we?
  1. The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
  2. Any of the Penguin Five (The Replacement, Sapphique, The Eternal Ones, Nightshade and Matched)
  3. The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
  4. The Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong
  5. Anything by Sarah Dessen - So give me a helping hand and send me some YA chick-lit! :P
  6. Anything by Shannon Hale - Though, I have most of her books over with my book fairy in the US. This preposterous disposition will be absolved by the end of the year, I promise!
  7. Lisa Schroeder's verse novels - 'nuff said.
  8. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
  9. Millennium series by Stieg Larsson
  10. Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer - Okay, this is only half true. I read like half of Twilight but gave up on it. Won't go there, please don't unfollow me. Respect my opinions... I'm just not a vampire person. Which is why I've been reviewing pretty much only contemporary novels.

ALSO, news on Where She Went, the sequel to Gayle Forman's If I Stay... The cover is revealed! [link] Also, here's what Gayle had to say about the unexpected unveiling... (Twitter)

What do you think about the cover for the sequel? I have the hardcover edition, so I'm hoping there will be another cover for the hardcover up soon! This one seems to be a good companion for the paperback, and IMO it's super pretty!

If I'm honest out of the list I've only read Twilight. But most of the rest are on my wishlist :D

I haven't read any of The Hunger Games series, but apparently I should since it's such a big thing haha. I can't wait for Matched & Nightshade. The Summer I turned Pretty is a good book as well!

The only ones from your list I've read are The Hunger Games series and Twilight. But most of the others are on my to-read list as well :)

:O How have you not read Sarah Dessen? She is essential for life as a teenager or as a YA reader/writer! Get on it, woman! Lol.

Everything besides The Hunger Games and the Twilight series I have not yet read entirely (I started the Mortal Instruments series but was too busy to finish the first book). While Twilight is an "acquired taste", I can definitely say you should look into getting a copy of The Hunger Games trilogy, and since the final book is out today, you can read straight through the series without having to painfully wait for closure :)

I have not read some of these. Hunger games is the big one. I just haven't.

Nor have I read The Summer that I turned pretty or any of the Penguin Five.

I tried a verse book- without knowing (I downloaded it to my nook, so I wasn't aware of the format.) It wasn't my favorite. It was alright for a one time deal, but no more.

As for Sarah Dessen, I liked her stuff. Twilight, I've read the series once challenging myself to understand what everyone was so hype about.

I have not done a Top Ten Tuesday, but I assume if I did TODAY then people would be surprised at what HUGE titles I haven't even looked at.

Great Post.

I'm with you on 2,4,6 and 9, Cass! Not particularly fond of WSW's cover, and I'm heartbroken Adam and Mia broke up (according to EW, Adam's her 'former boyfriend')!! I don't want them to, they are purrfect.

I've read and enjoyed all the Hunger Games books and I read the Twilight series but I didn't particularly care for all of them. I am getting ready to read the first in Cassandra Clare's series but I haven't read any of the other books you've listed either.

i dont think the penguin 5's are out yet.

also, Sarah Dessen is not so huge in Australia - my library doesnt have any of her titles. I like her books - but I like Elizabeth Scott better :) Have you read any of hers?

Definitely read The Hunger Games - I procrastinated for some reason (probably b/c I like contemporary YA) but they're really good -
you'll love them.

I havent read Lisa Shroeder or Shannon hale either. I really love verse novels though.

And The Summer I Turned Pretty is such a beautiful book.

xx

Haha, I haven't read any of Clare's books, either, but I hear they're good. I kinda got bored in the first one, but I should really give em another go.

Dude, don't waste your time with Twilight. They're infuriating. Or, if you absolutely have to know what all the fuss is about, go in go in armed. :D

There are so many books that I have yet to read. Dying to read The Hunger Games and some of Lisa Schroeder's verse novels. I've got some of Cassandra's books at home but have yet to start on them!

I say yes to Hunger Games and (shhh! don't let anyone hear me) no to Twilight. A pretty big yes to Hunger Games.

Skip Twilight, and read the Hunger Games trilogy and the Mortal Instruments series. Both are great favourites of mine!

I wish I liked Twilight, because I'd like to understand what everyone feels when they read it, but I simply don't get it. I hadn't heard of Mortal Instruments. I'll check that out!
